Relaxin Jailbreak

Install guide · about 10 minutes

How to install Relaxin on iOS 17.0 – 17.3.1

Relaxin is distributed as an unsigned IPA. To run it you sign that file with your own Apple ID — on the phone itself with Lightning Sign or ZeeSigner, or over USB with Sideloadly. Everything below is written out in full, including the errors people hit.

Step 01

Check compatibility and freeze your iOS version

Open Settings → General → About. You need:

  • Software Version between 17.0 and 17.3.1 inclusive.
  • A device with an A15 Bionic chip or newer — iPhone 13 series and up, iPhone SE 3, or an M1/M2 iPad.
  • At least 1 GB free storage for the bootstrap and package cache.

Then turn off automatic updates: Settings → General → Software Update → Automatic Updates, and switch off both toggles. Apple no longer signs iOS 17.3.1, so an accidental update is permanent.

Back up first

Take an iCloud or Finder backup before you start. Jailbreaking rarely costs you data, but "rarely" is not "never", and a backup takes five minutes.

Step 02

Download Relaxin.ipa

Not released yet

Relaxin has not been publicly released, so there is no IPA to download today. This page turns the download on automatically the moment the real build is out — meanwhile, check your device so you are ready. Ignore anyone offering a "Relaxin download" before then.

Step 03

Sign the IPA with your Apple ID

Three routes to the same result. Two run on the iPhone; one needs a computer. Pick one tab and follow it end to end.

Route A — Sign it here (on-device, nothing to install)

Our own signer runs the signing engine inside your browser tab. You supply a certificate, it fetches the IPA, signs it and hands it to iOS. Nothing is uploaded unless you choose the direct-install option, and the page says so before it does.

  1. Open the signer on the iPhone you want to jailbreak

Use Safari. relaxin-jailbreak.com/sign — there is nothing to download first.

  2. Pick your .p12 and enter its password

The page unlocks it locally and tells you straight away if the password is wrong, before anything else happens.

  3. Add the matching .mobileprovision

It reads the team name, expiry date and app ID out of the profile and shows them, so you can confirm you grabbed the right pair.

  4. Tap Sign, then install

Download the signed IPA, or let iOS install it directly. Then trust the certificate.

Step 04

Trust the developer certificate

The icon is on your home screen, but tapping it shows "Untrusted Developer". That is expected — iOS wants explicit permission for apps signed outside the App Store.

  1. Open Settings → General → VPN & Device Management

On some builds this reads Profiles & Device Management.

  2. Tap your Apple ID under "Developer App"

It will be the email address you signed with, not "Relaxin".

  3. Tap Trust, then confirm

The entry turns green and reads "Verified". Relaxin now opens normally.

No Developer App section?

Connect to the internet and reopen Settings — iOS verifies the certificate against Apple's servers before showing the trust option. If it still is not there, the install did not finish; re-sign and install again.

Step 05

Run the jailbreak

  1. Open Relaxin

You get the splash screen: the wordmark, and a small readout of your os, host, kernel, mem and uptime. If the values match your device, the app has attached correctly.

  2. Tap "Options"

Expand the options list at the bottom of the splash screen. Defaults are sensible; leave them alone on your first run.

  3. Start the jailbreak and wait

The bootstrap installs and the device resprings once — the screen goes black and the home screen reloads. Do not lock the device or switch apps while it works.

  4. Check your home screen

Sileo, Filza and RootHide should now be there. Open Sileo; the source list should show Procursus (roothide) and refresh without errors.

Living with it

What to do after every reboot

Relaxin is semi-untethered. When the phone restarts — whether you chose to or the battery died — the jailbreak is inactive until you re-enable it:

  1. Open the Relaxin app.
  2. Tap the jailbreak option.
  3. Wait for the respring. Your tweaks and packages come back exactly as they were.

Nothing is deleted by a reboot, and you never re-sign because of one. You only re-sign when the seven-day (or one-year) certificate expires.

When it goes wrong

Troubleshooting the common failures

Nearly every support message we get is one of these eight.

"Unable to Install" right after signing

Almost always a certificate problem: the profile expired, the .p12 password was wrong, or the bundle ID is already used by another sideloaded app. Re-sign with a fresh certificate, and delete any older copy of Relaxin first.

The app icon is greyed out or "Cleaning…"

iOS is mid-install or the install was interrupted. Wait two minutes; if the icon does not resolve, long-press to delete it, reboot, and install again.

"Untrusted Developer" and no Trust option in Settings

The device needs an internet connection to verify the certificate with Apple before the Trust entry appears. Connect to Wi-Fi, force-quit Settings, reopen it and look again under VPN & Device Management.

The app opens but the jailbreak button does nothing

Check the splash readout. If os shows 17.4 or higher, or host is an A14-or-older device, you are outside the supported range and no amount of retrying will help. If the values look right, reboot and try once more with airplane mode on.

Stuck on the respring / boot loop into the home screen

Hold volume-up, volume-down, then the side button to force a restart. The device boots unjailbroken and safe — nothing is broken. Open Relaxin and try again; if it fails twice, remove the bootstrap from the app's options before retrying.

Sileo shows repository errors on first refresh

Usually DNS or a partially written bootstrap. Toggle Wi-Fi, then pull to refresh in Sileo. If errors persist, remove the bootstrap from inside Relaxin and reinstall it — this does not require re-signing the IPA.

The app stopped opening after about a week

Your free-Apple-ID signature expired. Re-sign the same IPA with the same tool and Apple ID and install over the top. Do not delete the app first — deleting removes its container.

Sideloadly reports "maximum number of App IDs" reached

Free Apple IDs allow ten app IDs per seven-day window. Either wait for the window to roll over, use a different Apple ID, or switch to an on-device signer with an existing certificate.

Still stuck? Send us the exact error text and we will add it here.

Going back

Removing Relaxin completely

  1. Remove the bootstrap from inside the app

Open Relaxin, expand Options, and choose the remove/restore option. This deletes /var/jb along with every tweak and package you installed.

  2. Delete the Relaxin app

Long-press the icon and remove it like any other app.

  3. Reboot

You are back on a completely stock iOS install. Because the jailbreak was rootless, the system partition was never modified — no restore or DFU needed.
